Bios-Infera is a collaborative multi-media performance combining live experimental sound, butoh movement, sculpture and projected moving image. Bios meaning ‘life’, and ‘Infera’ meaning ‘beneath’ in Latin, explores the life force and hidden networks that connect us all through the earth's soil.
Situated by the forest’s edge at Seven Hills reserve, Bios - infera directly responds to the memory, spirit and life held within layers of the forest floor and tangled root systems via a multi-sensory journey through themes of birth, growth, disruption and recovery.
Bios - Infera imagines the unseen impacts of ruptured forest ecosystems and the recovery to its original states via gradually intensifying slow movement, projected moving image and experimental base, electronic guitar and vocals. By drawing on themes such as eco-feminism, climate reflection and collective consciousnesses, Bios - Infera aims to facilitate deep listening and awareness of our interconnectivity to the earth beneath our feet.
